The circuit training room is the room people walk past. It is also the one that solves the specific problem of having twenty-five minutes and no plan.
Why the room works
The machines are arranged in a ring and set by air pressure, which means resistance changes with a dial rather than a pin and a stack. You sit down, you go, you move on. There is no setup, no plate-loading, and — crucially — no waiting for somebody to finish.
The twenty-minute version
Two laps of the ring. Forty-five seconds on each machine, fifteen seconds to move to the next one. Somewhere between machines, thirty seconds of walking, marching or stepping, then carry on.
That is it. Two laps is roughly twenty minutes, and it hits everything.
The half-hour version
Three laps, and add sixty seconds of harder cardio between each lap — the cardio floor is next door and has thirty-plus pieces to pick from.
If you would rather be told what to do
Cardio Circuit runs the same room on a timer with an instructor calling it, Thursday mornings with Kevin. SilverSneakers Cardio Circuit runs a lower-impact version at midday Tuesday and Thursday. Both are included — times are here.
What to bring
Water and a towel. Everything else is in the room.
